In addition to their Simplicity product, AmeriCom also offers
a slightly lower-priced service called Simplicity Business.
There are only two differences between Simplicity and Simplicity
Business. First, the interstate rate on Simplicity Business
is 4.25¢ per minute, rather than 4.5¢ per minute with Simplicity.
Secondly, with Simplicity Business you need to use $25 minimum
per month in order to qualify for the lower interstate rate.
That's it. All intrastate, intralata and international rates
are the same, as are the fees and monthly service charges (there
aren't any). Although this is labeled a business product, residential
lines also qualify.
AmeriCom is a switchless reseller based in Sandy, Utah that
offers a very simple, straightforward and inexpensive calling
plan for most consumers throughout the continental U.S.
Unlike some of the other programs on this website, AmeriCom's
Simplicity Business service is available almost anywhere in
the country and costs the same for all customers, regardless
of who their local telephone company is. If you live in any
of the lower 48 states, chances are extremely good that AmeriCom
not only offers service in your area, but offers a good deal
to you as well.
Billing, provisioning, call quality and customer service are
all excellent. AmeriCom quite simply does not cut any corners.
We have had well over 2,000 people sign up for AmeriCom's service
through this website over the past 2+ years, and have yet to
receive a single complaint about them. AmeriCom is one of those
quiet companies that provides reliable service to customers
year after year, without missing a beat. All billing is done
via regular mail, although there is also an option of logging
in and paying your bill online.
One thing you want to make sure to do when choosing a long
distance provider is to take a look at intrastate rates in addition
to interstate (state-to-state) rates. AmeriCom's intrastate
rates are especially competitive in places like California,
Texas, and New York. People in those states tend to make a lot
of intrastate calls, and saving just 1¢ per minute on those
calls could slash your bill by as much as 20%. So, be sure to
check AmeriCom's intrastate rates against that of others before
you decide. In many states, AmeriCom's rates are at or near
the lowest on our website.
Although AmeriCom does not offer some of the fancy online billing
reports that other companies do, for the average residential
or business user this is simply not an issue. Of more interest
is probably AmeriCom's 24/7, toll-free customer service, online
billing and payment availability, and no extra fees for a printed
bill. They also offer free accounting and security codes, for
those who need them. If you wish, you can also have your credit
card automatically billed for the service each month, rather
than writing a check or logging in to their website to do it
manually.
AmeriCom's Simplicity program truly lives up to its name by
taking the "gotchas" out of your long distance bill. With no
monthly service charges, no excessive USF fees or hidden "taxes",
low intrastate rates and six second billing increments, it's
hard to go wrong with AmeriCom.
